User manual
How to use Rostdav as a person: sign in, connect the Nextcloud apps, manage and share files, restore versions and secure your account.
This manual is for the people who use a Rostdav server. If you run the server yourself, read the administrator guide as well.
Rostdav stores your files on a server that belongs to you or your organisation. You reach them in two ways: with the web interface in your browser, and with the Nextcloud apps (Android, iOS, desktop) that sync and open files from your phone or computer. Both show the same files.
- Getting startedSign in to the Rostdav web interface, find your way around and set language and theme.
- Connect the Nextcloud appsSign in with the official Nextcloud Android, iOS or desktop app: the browser flow, app passwords per device, and the WebDAV address.
- Work with filesBrowse, upload files and whole folders with drag and drop, search, sort, download and delete in the Rostdav web interface.
- Share files and foldersShare with other users or with a public link, with a password, an expiry date and view, edit or upload-only access.
- Versions and the trash binRestore older versions of a file and deleted files in Rostdav, and learn what is kept and for how long.
- Account and securityChange your password, set up two-factor sign-in and recovery codes, manage devices, choose a profile picture and export your data.
- TroubleshootingAnswers to common problems: the app cannot connect, sign-in is blocked, the server says it is in maintenance, a file will not upload or is missing.
